JG M4 RIS System 420 FPS+ AEG Airsoft Sniper Rifle

The JG M4 RIS System is a rugged, ultra-realistic 300-round capacity AEG airsoft rifle with a removable sniper scope that can provide a little extra boost to your accuracy. Even without the scope, the rifle is already pretty accurate. The scope works well and makes the rifle look even more imposing than it already is.

The scope actually zooms and there are quite a number of magnification settings for you to mess around with.

However, do not expect too much out of the scope. It is not going to magically make you hit a long range target at 500 FPS using 0.12g BBs. This is just an airsoft rifle after all.

Velocity

Speaking of FPS, although 500 FPS is possible to achieve with 0.12g BBs, it is best that you do not load the rifle with this ammo. Also stay away from 0.15 BBs. These two types of ammo will not only ruin your accuracy, they are also likely to jam your rifle. Obviously you do not want that to happen to you, especially during an intense airsoft skirmish!

BB Pellets

The ideal BBs for the JG M4 RIS System are 0.20g and 0.25g, which should get you around 400-420 FPS and 370-390 FPS respectively without jeopardizing your accuracy. You can hit a target precisely at 150 feet, so this airsoft rifle with sniper scope certainly deserves credit for its fairly impressive accuracy.

AEG airsoft sniper rifle power

Sadly, the same cannot be said about the battery that comes with the rifle. Included with the rifle is a rather pitiful 8.4 110mAH battery, along with one of those standard chargers that often take 4 to 5 hours to fully charge a battery. That’s bad news because this rifle eats up battery juice like you wouldn’t believe!

If you want to experience true fun with the JG M4 RIS System and to fully appreciate its excellent rate of fire, then it is advisable that you grab one or two 9.6v 2000mAH batteries. This rifle runs a whole lot better with a 9.6v battery. While you are at it, grab a smart charger as well so that charging time can be substantially reduced.

Battery installation is also another issue. The battery compartment is situated within the rifle’s hand guard which is hinged. So you swing it open and slot the battery in. Sounds simple, right?

Not really because the battery compartment is too narrow. Honestly, it is actually pretty darned hard to fit the battery in. Of course you can make it work with a little practice and keeping cool and calm (even if you actually feel like throwing the rifle against the wall in furious rage) while you try to slot the battery in.

According to some users, there are several videos online that show you exactly how to solve this, so if this particular issue is close to damaging your sanity; you might want to look those videos up.

Build Quality

Now, even if you did throw the JG M4 RIS System airsoft rifle against the wall, chances are, it won’t break. The rifle’s durability is grade A all the way. Most of its parts are created out metal. The rifle’s frame is top-notch polymer, while the stock pipe, the outer barrel, the gears and the gearbox—all metal.

Being a replica of the real thing and with many metal parts, the JG M4 RIS System is naturally heavy. It weighs about 10 pounds, so users who are lacking in the strength department might find it very exhausting to carry the rifle around during a long airsoft game. The solution? Get a good quality sling. That should prevent your arms from tiring too quickly.

Verdict

The JG M4 RIS System scope is a highly polished, well-balanced airsoft rifle with sniper scope, and its awesome accuracy and rate of fire make it ideal for beginner as well as intermediate airsoft competitors.
