OK guys, this will be a multi part review of my new KWC gas M16A2 Carbine that I just received from Chase.
My first impressions of the gun are that it's a hefty piece, more so than my all steal Marui M4. There were no trademarks on the gun itself, but the mag that came with it and the two extra mags I got all had the Colt emblem on the floor plate with AR15 stamped on it as well. It also seems to be very solidly built, the only thing I can see right off the bat is that the three-piece outer barrel won't tighten down enough to stop twisting. Almost the opposite of the notorious Marui barrel wobble. There are two sets screws at each end of the middle outer barrel section that hold it in place on the end pieces. I've tighten them down as much as I could in fear of turn more and stripping the threads. I think adding dimples on the end pieces to let the set screws have someplace to turn into would help. I'll let you know what I come up with.
Next I examined the CO2 adapter that I ordered with it. It's a slick unit. It has a quick detach hose that fits a nipple on the front underside of the sliding stock. Snaps right on and off. The unit holds a standard CO2 cartridge that you can get at Kmart. I bought a box of 15 cartridges for $7. The unit has a cutout in the CO2 holder to allow you to unscrew it far enough to drop the cartridge in with out removing the housing completely. Then you just simply tighten it down until you hear the gas charge the system and no gas leaking out the seal.
OK, so I loaded up a magazine, which by the way are quite hefty as well. I have to mention that you won't be able to use your handy dandy electric speed loaders with this. The top of the mag is totally different from a regular AEG mag. You could probably devise some kind of adapter to make it work though. Anyway, so I loaded up and mag, hooked up the CO2 rig and shot at my favorite target box in the garage. I was very impressed with it. It definitely has some power and velocity. I'm almost afraid that it won't pass the chrono test for AA. So I emptied the mag switching back and forth from semi to full to semi. It emptied the mag with no hickups. I loaded the mag again and almost emptied it when the CO2 ran out. So I would say that if I was shooting at a slower pace and was outside where it was warmer I should be able to empty two mags per CO2 cartridge.

When you open the box you will find the following items:
KWC M16A2 Carbine, (yes it's an M16 carbine, not an M4A1).
One manual and three sight in targets.
One 65 round magaine. One bipod that attaches to the bottom hand guard. One box of green BB's.
One A1 sight-adjusting tool, (yes it's an A1 tool for the VN style M16's without an adjusting knob on the rear). One sling, very nice copy of the M14 and early M16 sling.
One can of silicon spray lube.
One large allen wrench, (has to be for the full stock M16) can’t find anything on the carbine that it fits, but the manual shows two large allen screws holding the buttstock on.

You'll also notice in the pictures that the flash hider on my gun is not painted orange. Don't expect yours to be like this. I pulled the flash hider off, (yes pulled, not unscrewed it off), had it bead blasted to remove the orange paint and then painted it with flat black engine paint and baked in on for .5 hrs in the oven. Then I super glued in back on to the end of the barrel.

You'll notice in the picture of the CO2 adapter the cutout I mentioned where the cartridge goes. It has a very sturdy belt clip on the backside as well. I think the best way to carry it though would be to put it in one of the mag pouches on your LBV.
I've looked through the manual very carefully, it is written in English, (poor English, but English not the less) and has not found any reference to being able to adjust the gas pressure on the gun. So for now I'm assuming it is fixed and non-adjustable.

Well I got to play with the KWC in the first game on Saturday. I hooked up the CO2 rig to it and chrono'd in at an impressive 380 fps. Here are my thoughts on the CO2 rig for skirmishes.
1. Standard CO2 cartridges do not last long enough if you have a heavy trigger finger. I still only managed to shoot less than two full mags before the CO2 ran out. I will say that the CO2 rig did perform quite well after I took it apart and sprayed the regulator piston with Silicone oil. The piston had stuck on me previously and wouldn't pass any gas through the line.
2. It was not cumbersome to use, I put the rig inside one of my LBV mag pouches and it carried nicely.
I did manage to get 5 kills with it as some decent range, just ask Turd. I got him twice at about 150 feet. Not bad for a gun without any Hop-Up.
After my supply of CO2 cartridges ran out I tried it with a can of Green Gas and an external adapter rig that I borrowed from Paco. I put the can of gas in my LBV mag pouch as well. The Green Gas rig worked out really well and I was able to keep my rate of fire up just like I was shooting an AEG. That is until the gas line blew off the brass fitting on the can of gas. The hose was only secured by the tight fit of the hose over the nipple of the fitting. Apparently the gas pressure was just too much for it to withstand.
After this happened 5 times and my can of gas was depleted I walked the long walk back to my truck to see if I could fix it. I put a cable tie around the hose end on the nipple and that seemed to be enough to keep the hose in place.
So my conclusion is that the best bet would seem to be the Green Gas external adapter and a large can of Green Gas for a long day of playing.
I have to make a correction to what I stated in Part 1 about not being able to use the electric mag loaders out there. Mikey aka Airsofter1 informed me that the mag loaders come with adapters to fit almost every gun out there. I even got to use one of his during the game witch came in really handy. I had to have one after that and went to the Scottsdale Command Post store and purchased one for $30 with tax. Maybe I'll do a review on it.
Next I'm going to try the O-ring Hop-Up modification. I'll let you know how it goes.
