As I posted here some time in the past, my G36's outer barrel broke and I still haven't gotten around to fixing it. I can't find JUST outer barrels anywhere, so I'm going to have to purchase a whole new front end for my gun. I'd like to get an RIS, vertical fore-grip, suppressor, etc instead of just replacing what I have. If I'm going to spend this amount of money fixing my gun (it will cost 200-300 dollars), I figured I might as well make it look cooler too.

Ideally, I would buy an G36k RIS front end from Classic Army and then put a suppressor on that to hide my current inner barrel. But are the flash hiders on the G36k removable? I know that the flash hiders on G36's are removable, but the flash hider on my G36 was not.

If the flash hider isn't removable, I'll have to buy a new inner barrel as well, which would suck.

I don't THINK they are removable but I could be wrong. Seems like the K and E versions use the same locking mechanism, one that unfortunately doesn't involve threads. I don't blame you for wanting a metal CA RIS, mine is super sexy.

You could get a C outer barrel and a very long silencer but that might lead to stability problems.

Yeah. Also, a suppressor that long would look ridiculous. I suppose I'll have to just buy a new inner barrel. I'll probably buy a G36c front end, get a suppressor, and get a tightbore somewhere between G36c and G36k lengths.
