First Impressions

I ordered the gun from Evike.com for 310 which included the gun, battery, charger, and 2000 bbs. The first thing I saw was obviously the box. It was not very special as it had the same basic theme as the other Tokyo Marui Boxes.

I knew about the P90 from Counter-strike (which really warps dimensions) so when I first pulled out the gun from it's case, it seemed alot bigger and wider then what I expected. This of course, was not a bad thing, but something I had to get used to. When I opened the box, I was disgusted by the large orange tip on the silencer. Also, I didn't quite like the gray body. (The normal P90's have black bodies.) Black spray paint remedied both of these.

Other stuff

The gun (although I bought it from a US retailer) had in-tact trademarks.

Sometimes, when ordered over seas, the retailer covers up the trademarks with black paint, tape, or putty to get through customs. The gun has a cocking handle which does not do anything. You can still pull it back and look cool :-).

Performance

The gun has a rate of fire of about 800 to 850 rounds per minute, which is below the actual gun''s rate of fire (900rpm). As this gun is a bullpup design, the barrel is longer than you may think (slightly longer than mp5 series'' barrels). Accuracy is not too consistent, but as it is a CQB gun, it gets the job done. I chrono''d the gun at 270-280 fps, as almost all stock Tokyo Marui guns are. Therefore, range is equivalent.

Handling

This gun is ambidextrous and has very ergonomical grips. The grips may look very strange but they are very comfortable. Sometimes however, my wrists start to hurt when I hold the gun tightly in a certain way. The safety/mode select is also ambidextrous as it is located directly underneath the trigger.

As you can see on mine, the paint of the 1 and the F have already been rubbed off. This gun is mostly for a smaller body build, as it is a small cqb gun. Some say the hop unit is hard to reach without field stripping it, but to me, its fairly simple. There is a small hatch underneath the part right above the shooting hand, and that is where the hop can be changed. To field strip it, simply take the magazine out and push the small rectangular button to release the upper reciever and slide it out forward carefully. Its also a good idea to strip it when carrying out maintenance procedures.

Magazines

The gun comes with a 68 round magazine which looks really beatiful with its fake bullets. The magazine works fine everytime without a feeding problem.

A 300 round hi-cap magazine can be bought seperately. This magazine is one that really needs to be discussed. Its pros are that it has 300 rounds, which is more than MP5 hi-caps. There is a spring that pushes the bbs towards the winding mechanism which causes less feeding problems, and less noise of bbs rattling inside the resevoir. Its cons are that there are no fake shells, but the big one is that the winding dial is under the magazine, which makes it so that you have to remove the magazine before u can wind it. This is fairly inconvenient, and also it is not as easy to wind it as other magazines, because its like screwing a screw without a screwdriver. This can be solved by taking a hexagon wrench with you. There is a place for the wrench and using one makes winding ALOT faster. There are still some feeding problems with this hicap. Sometimes it unwinds all the way when you are only half way through the 300 rounds.

Low cap (comes with the gun) on left, and hicap (with bbs in it) on right.
Below, you can see the gun without a magazine, and where the bbs feed from the magazine.

Battery

The battery is located in a little spot in the back of the gun which can be very easily accessed by taking off the
butt plate. Battery changes are 10 seconds with this easy access.
It is as easy as 1, 2, 3! The butt of the gun (:-o porn!)

Step one: remove the butt plate (very easy, there's a button to do it)

Step two: put the battery in (little compartment for it, then connect it. easy.)

Step three: Close the butt (slide it back on, duh)

Accessories

This gun, having 3 rails, is just asking you to accessorise it.

Anything from red dots, flashlights, scopes, lasers, ETC can be attatched to this gun. There are also after market quad railes that can be attatched to the front of this gun. Onto that, you can put a mini launcher! On mine, I have only attatched a 30mm red dot so far, but I plan to get a tac-light next, then a laser when I can. The silencer which the gus comes with has silencing foam which already cancells out about 25 percent of the noise. There is alot of space around the gearbox, so if you are experienced, you can install dynamat sound canceller to GREATLY decrease the sound.

Aiming

Aiming with this gun is fairly difficult without a red dot even though it actually does have iron sights:

You have to press your cheek really into the side of the gun to be able to see through them, which makes it impossible to aim
while wearing a safety mask. A red dot sight makes aiming alot easier. Observe:

A laser can also be attatched to the side of the gun to make aiming simple.

My personal gun

To add effects to my gun, I have painted the trademarks white, and painted everything but the handle parts and the upper reciever black.

(This pic shows my gun before any paintjobs, but with a sling and a sight that did not come with the gun)

Overall

(stock)

Usage: CQB primary, other backup. This gun is worth it definately for CQB!
