Overall

The gun has a very nice over all feel. The grips are rock solid and are very comfortable in the hand. The body is very nice, and very realistic just like the regular ak-47. If someone didn't know better you would think that this gun is all metal. There are a few downsides that I will go over further in this review. I have owned numerous AEG's previously to this one, so I have many to compare it to.

Cons

First lets go over the cons. There are no real big cons, but you will notice a lot of these. I personally think, a long with the majority of the people who I play with, that the front foregrip is just too short. After a while of playing with it for a long day you really start to notice this. If you get a vertical grip for it then this problem goes away. It feels very nice in the hands with this grip on it.

Another con about this gun is the barrel. Now one must understand this is not meant to be a sharp shooter with such a short barrel. But consistently at around 75 feet you get a slight curve to the left, it wasn't too much but it is noticeable. The barrel is just too short to be a sharp shooter. If you throw in a 6.04 or 6.03 mm tightbore barrel this problem starts to go away, but it's still not as accurate as my ak-47, or most of my bigger AEG's that Ive owned. Compared to the mp5 series however, the accuracy seems to be on par, if not slightly better.

Pros

There are quite a lot of pros to this gun, and I feel that they outweigh the cons. First off the gun is very compact, much more compact than my ak-47. It is about 5 inches shorter than my ak-47, and is around the size of an mp5a5.

Another pro to this gun is it has large battery space. It can hold any battery that a regular ak-47 can. The stocks are the exact same dimensions.

This gun comes with a 240 round hicap. Meaning you do not have to purchase one so you save $30-$40.

Another thing about the magazines is that their %100 compatible with normal ak mags, so you can use those 10 star magazines for $50, and the regular 600 round hicap for the regular ak-47. But if you like the idea of being manuevable than the regular spetsnaz hicaps can be purchased to maintain the spetsnaz look.

The gun internally has the same parts as a regular AK-47. With the version 3 mechbox in it, internally it is a very good gun. The v3 mechbox takes an m130 pretty easily (with other upgrades obviously).

Another pro is that it is original, you will definitely stand out from the crowd of M16's, M4's, and other AK-47's. There are not too many people it seems with this gun, despite how good they are.

Comparing against other guns

TM AK-47

Compared to a TM ak-47 it feels small. So if you have been using big guns and a lot of bigger assault rifles, the spetsnaz feels a little awkward at first, but you get used to this. One thing that I feel causes this is that the front grip is so small compared to the bigger rifles. The stocks on both guns are the same size, so the stock and the pistol grip on the spetz and AK-47 are interchangeable, and any battery that fits in the AK-47 will fit in the spetz.

But the front sight is identical on both guns.

TM MP5a5

Although the barrel lengths are identical, 229 mm, I find that the spetsnaz tends to have better shot groupings. Personally, I think it is because of the Spetsnazs sights. For someone not use to them it takes a little adjusting, but once you do get use to the sights I find that they are amazing. The rear sight is much different then the regular AK-47's. Length wise the TM mp5 and the spetsnaz are about the same size.

However, the spetsnaz is much heavier. Its about one kilogram heavier, which is very noticeable. And a

MP5a4 which has a full stock is signifigantly lighter then the Spetsnaz (in fact it is lighter than the a5).

Not only is the weight of the gun very nice, and very solid in your hands, but it is not so much that it weighs you down.

TM and CA g36c

The spetz has a longer barrel than both G36's, it is heavier than both G36's and it has a full stock Also the spetz is still more compact than the G36c. Accuracy here is about the same. The spetz can interchange magazines with the regular AK-47, while a

G36 like most guns can not interchange between different models. I personally would have liked the option of possibly putting a folding stock on the spetz much like the g36, but then you lose the battery space. They both have v3 mechboxes, however the g36 has the newer eg1000 vs the spetz eg 700 motor. Their is not too much of a difference between the two motors, but it is something different between them, which comes into effect when upgrading.

Aiming

As I said earlier the sights are very nice, but take a little adjusting to from other guns sights. Here is a picture of aiming through the sights:

(coming Soon)

How it held up in a game

I used this gun for about an hour in a skirmish. It held its own pretty well considering I was playing against mainly upgraded AEG's. I was able to get 7 kills over the time period (I'll normally get around

10-15 with an upgraded AEG), and considering this thing was stock that is very good. I was able to run around with this gun and maintain maneuvarabilty.

Another advantage was when we went into CQB buildings at the field everyone else was using their pistol since most of their guns were too big, and pistols in the winter do not work that well. I on the other hand was able to run around with my spetsnaz just as easily, if not easier, than everyone else with their MP5's.

Overall the gun holds up very well against other guns, and is a great buy, but it comes with its cons. I give this gun a 7.75/10/
